Brighton's Live Theatre

SOHO’S Brighton Barn Theatre is housed in the Proctor-Simpson Barn. The nucleus of the theatre was constructed from a real barn. Maximum seating is only 125, so all patrons enjoy a close unobstructed view of the stage. Patrons also enjoy the cozy setting with post and beam construction, soaring ceiling and warm wooden interior. The theatre is located “down the lane”, behind Brighton’s well-known Proctor House Museum, 96 Young Street, Brighton, Ontario.

The Proctor-Simpson Barn (an 1850’s post and beam structure) is a multi-faceted facility. It is completely heated and air-conditioned on both the upper and lower floors and accessible to the physically challenged.

The “Barn” which features sophisticated lighting and sound systems, hosts theatrical productions, art auctions, fund raising events and concerts on both our indoor and outdoor stages. Ample parking is available on site.

SOHO’S Brighton Barn Theatre Company hosted the Eastern Ontario Drama League's One Act Play Festival in the fall of 2003, and presented “A Little Something For The Ducks.” We were nominated for an award in five categories. Then in the 2005 festival, we again received multiple nominations for our production of "Trifles", bringing home the Best Actress award. We offer award winning Directing and Acting.
